Creed-Miles was appointed by Esher Cricket Club to refurbish its main clubhouse, delivering a complete flooring and furniture upgrade to improve the appearance, comfort and day-to-day functionality of the venue.
The project combined durable commercial flooring with new dining furniture and was carefully planned and completed over just four days, allowing the clubhouse to reopen quickly with minimal disruption to members and visitors.

The Brief
The client required a durable commercial flooring solution capable of withstanding the heavy footfall experienced within a busy sports clubhouse, while creating a more welcoming and contemporary environment.
Alongside the flooring installation, the existing dining furniture was replaced to modernise the social areas and provide a more comfortable space for members, guests and visitors.

Our Solution Phase One
Flooring Installation (3 Days)
Our team removed the existing floor finishes before preparing the subfloor and installing new high-performance flooring throughout the clubhouse. The installation included:
- 132m² of Interface Contemplation carpet tiles throughout the main seating and circulation areas.
- 12.5m² of Interface Woodgrains luxury vinyl tiles (LVT) in high-wear areas, providing a durable and easy-to-maintain finish.
- 16m² of Burmatex Armour entrance matting installed at key entrances to minimise dirt and moisture entering the building while improving safety.

Our Solution Phase Two
Furniture Installation (1 Day)
Following completion of the flooring installation, the clubhouse was fitted out with new dining furniture to complete the refurbishment, including:
- 14 dining tables
- 64 dining chairs
All furniture was assembled, positioned in accordance with the agreed layout, and all packaging materials were removed from site, leaving the clubhouse ready for immediate use.
Results
The completed refurbishment transformed the clubhouse into a modern, practical and welcoming environment for members, guests and event visitors. The combination of hard-wearing commercial flooring, high-performance entrance matting and new dining furniture has created a space that is easier to maintain, more comfortable to use and designed to withstand the demands of a busy sports venue for many years to come.
Products Used
Interface Contemplation carpet tiles feature a rugged, artisanal texture with a subtle tweed-inspired appearance that combines contemporary design with exceptional durability. Rated to EN 1307 Class 33 Heavy Contract use and backed by a 15-year manufacturer’s warranty, they are ideal for busy commercial environments.
Interface Woodgrains luxury vinyl tiles were selected to integrate seamlessly with the Interface carpet tiles to create attractive transitions between different areas of a building. The integrated Sound Choice™ backing provides impact sound reduction of up to 19 dB without requiring separate acoustic underlay.
Burmatex Armour entrance matting uses a three-stage sustainable yarn protection system manufactured from 100% regenerated recyclable yarns. Moisture-absorbing fibres help prevent water being carried further into the building, while scraper fibres remove dirt and grit from footwear. The high-density yarn construction delivers excellent durability and long-term performance and is supported by a 15-year manufacturer’s warranty.
Why This Refurbishment Was Successful
The combination of carpet tiles, luxury vinyl tiles and entrance matting allowed each area of the clubhouse to receive the most appropriate flooring for its level of use. Carpet tiles provide comfort underfoot and help improve acoustic performance in seating areas, LVT provides a durable surface in higher-wear locations, while entrance matting helps protect the new flooring by reducing the amount of dirt and moisture carried into the building. Together with the new dining furniture, the refurbishment has created a welcoming clubhouse that is easier to maintain and better suited to the needs of members and visitors.
