Ikon Science appointed Creed-Miles to modernise its Surbiton office through the installation of new commercial flooring and a series of workplace improvements.

The project was required to enhance the appearance and functionality of the office while being completed within a short programme and with minimal disruption to staff.

Ikon Science commissioned Creed-Miles to undertake a fast-track office refurbishment at its Surbiton headquarters. The objective was to improve the appearance and functionality of the workspace, enhance privacy within meeting areas, and create a more professional environment for employees and visitors.

Working to an intensive eight-day programme, our team successfully transformed the office through a combination of new commercial flooring, glazed partition enhancements, and upgraded boardroom facilities.

Key Requirements

Planning & Coordination

Before work commenced, we developed a detailed programme to ensure every stage of the refurbishment could be completed efficiently.

Materials, furniture deliveries, flooring installers, and specialist contractors were carefully scheduled to maintain progress throughout the project and avoid delays.

Flooring Removal & Preparation

Existing carpet tiles were removed throughout the office and responsibly disposed of.

The subfloor was then prepared to ensure a smooth and durable foundation for the new flooring installation, helping maximise the lifespan and performance of the finished floor.

Office Flooring Installation

The centrepiece of the project was the installation of more than 800m² of Interface Works commercial carpet tiles.

The 500mm x 500mm carpet tile system was selected for its durability, appearance, and suitability for high-traffic office environments. The new flooring provided an immediate visual improvement while offering long-term performance and ease of maintenance.

Working within a demanding eight-day programme, Creed-Miles successfully delivered a complete office flooring and workplace refurbishment for Ikon Science at its Surbiton headquarters. The project combined the installation of over 800m² of new commercial carpet tiles with enhancements to meeting rooms, glazed partitions and boardroom facilities, creating a more modern and functional working environment.

Completion & Handover

Following installation, the project underwent detailed quality inspections, final cleaning, and furniture positioning.

All areas were prepared for immediate use and handed back ready for occupation by the Ikon Science team.

Meeting Room & Boardroom Improvements

To improve privacy without compromising natural light, solid frosted manifestations were applied to glazed office partitions and meeting room screens.

The boardroom was further enhanced with the installation of a new Imperial boardroom table, boardroom seating, and a large meeting table with seating for 14 people, creating a professional environment for meetings, presentations, and client visits.
