Project Brief
Location: Chessington
Time: 5 Weeks
Oliver Bonas required the transformation of an existing mezzanine space into two purpose-built photography studios. The goal was to bring all studio work in-house, reducing reliance on external hire and creating a tailored environment suited to the brand’s creative needs.

5 Key Steps in the Design Process
01
Space Planning & Layout
We designed and divided the mezzanine into two equal-sized studios, incorporating forklift access to facilitate easy movement of goods and props.
02
Partitioning & Studio Build
Full-height partitioning was constructed from the mezzanine floor to the underside of the warehouse roof, ensuring complete separation and acoustic control between the studios.
03
Specialist Installations
We built five mini photo booths—two with integrated coves—and constructed a 6x6m infinity cove to allow for a range of photography setups and creative flexibility.
The new in-house studio space is a highly functional, brand-aligned creative hub designed for flexibility and efficiency. Oliver Bonas can now conduct professional shoots in a controlled, bespoke environment—saving time and cost while improving creative output.
05
Studio Functionality
A dedicated dressing room with lit mirror and table was built, alongside the installation of six desks and seating areas to support day-to-day operations of the in-house studio team.
04
MEP Works & Comfort Enhancements
The lighting layout was redesigned to suit photography needs, while new air conditioning systems were installed with duct socks to evenly distribute airflow.
