The client wanted to transform a disused rooftop terrace into a safe and welcoming outdoor space for staff to relax, collaborate, and enjoy surrounding views. Our goal was to create a functional, garden-like breakout area while ensuring structural safety and minimal disruption.

Feasibility Study
We began by assessing the terrace’s load-bearing capacity to confirm the project was structurally viable.

Planning & Compliance
We supported the client in securing planning permissions, essential due to the rooftop location.

Site Access Strategy
With no internal access, all materials and waste were craned on and off the second-floor terrace.
We delivered a fresh, functional rooftop space that supports agile working and enhances staff wellbeing—turning an overlooked terrace into a standout feature.

Safety & Finishing
Perforated mesh screens provided safety and privacy. Bespoke benching and reinstated lightning protection completed the transformation.

Design & Build
Old slabs were removed and replaced with artificial grass and custom decking. The space was reimagined to feel like an outdoor garden.
