A bespoke timber glazed partitions system was designed and installed as part of a refurbishment to a listed building at The German School in Richmond.
The works required precise coordination with the architect to ensure all details complemented the existing structure while meeting acoustic and aesthetic requirements.

Planning & Coordination
Detailed site surveys were completed ahead of works to confirm dimensions and detailing. Coordination meetings with the architect ensured all timber profiles and glazing specifications were approved prior to manufacture.

Preparation & Protection
Existing finishes were protected and the area cleared, with all waste removed via on-site skips. Fixing positions were reviewed to ensure compliance with listed building requirements.

Timber Fabrication
Refined floor plans, lighting, acoustics, finishes, and integrated locker systems, vanity units, and shower cubicles. Applied natural tones, high-quality finishes, and discreet lighting for the changing rooms, with bold accent colours and open layouts for the gym.
The completed timber glazed partitions, met the needs of a Grade II* listed building and delivered beautiful frames with acoustic glass that matched the craftsmanship of the original building, Douglas House an early 18th-century Queen Anne-style home.

Completion & Handover
The project was delivered during the summer holidays to avoid disruption, completed on time and to specification. The result is a refined and characterful space that blends modern performance with the craftsmanship of the original building.

Installation & Finishing
12.8mm acoustic glass was installed within the custom frames, with double-row dot manifestations applied for safety. Timber sections were then hand-finished and painted in line with the approved colour scheme.
