Project Brief
Location: The German School, Richmond
Sector: Education
The German School tasked us to carry out a full flooring replacement across their Ground Floor Open Forum. The works replaced existing carpet tiles with durable Interface Level Set Loose Lay LVT, chosen not only for its resilience but also for its natural woodgrain finish that brings warmth and a modern aesthetic to the space.

5 Key Steps in the Design Process
01
Planning & Presentation
We presented product samples and agreed the technical specification and finishes with the client before starting on site.
02
Removal & Clearance
Existing carpet tiles and stair trims were removed and cleared to waste skips to prepare the area for subfloor works.
03
Subfloor Preparation
The entire subfloor was screeded to achieve a smooth, level surface suitable for the new loose-lay LVT.
This well-planned project covering not just LVT but preparation of a vast subfloor work too, achieved a stylish and practical finish that delivered a modern aesthetic to an important school meeting place.
05
Handover
Works were completed during normal working hours, and the areas were handed back to the client on completion, meeting the agreed specification and finishes.
04
LVT Installation & Finishing
Contract-grade 1000 × 250mm Interface “Level Set” loose-lay tiles were laid using the manufacturer’s recommended release adhesives. New Gradus RXT511 Glacier PVC-u stair channels with black inserts were fitted into position.
